’Not only foods but also clothes can be unhealthy. Look for productswith the GOTS certificate and set up a capsule wardrobe for yourchild!’
GOTS- Capsule Wardrobe for Kids
The phrase ’capsule wardrobe’ is in fashion these days, however, it is far from me to follow any ’craze’, now I fully agree with this one. The concept of capsule wardrobe refers to not hoarding a million pieces of clothing into our homes, but instead just trying to have some but quality – GOTS or OEKO-Tex- pieces that can be combined with one another.
We can assemble plenty of sets from 8-10 basic pieces that can make our appearance just as nice and trendy.
In my opinion, we should follow this point of view when choosing our kids’ clothes (link to FB page) with the help of environmentally friendly products in every way.
What is GOTS?
GOTS is the abbreviation of the English label called ’Global Organic Textile Standard’. This certificate is given to textiles which meet the highest environmental protection standards in every way. And there is an emphasis on ’in every way’.
In case of GOTS textiles you can be sure that,
• they are made of chemical-free cotton,
• all steps of cotton processing comply with all the strict environmental regulations,
• in factories adult workers are employed in normal conditions and for normal wages,
• and the whole trading process from the harvest to the making of the ready textile is orderly, environment and people conscious.
It is really hard to get to these textile base materials as – I have mentioned – not only the base material must be fully controlled and chemical free in order to get a GOTS certificate but the whole producing process must be supervised as well from the beginning to the end.
From Békéscsaba to Love the Organic
You have GOTS stock materials in vain if the merchant or the dressmaker dyes it with contaminated dye full of chemicals. That is not a GOTS product any more and not to mention that it can be harmful for our children as well.
You might have experienced that your child got an allergic rash from a piece of clothing. Or he might just itched everywhere because of it. The reason behind this is that the textile contained more synthetic materials than the healthy limit. GOTS products contain 95% (!) bio fibres and maximum 5 % non-bio fibres. That is a great feat of arms, right?
I have always looked for a career that can support a higher purpose. What else can be more important than the protection of our own dwelling place, our living space, ie. the Earth? I attended a school of clothing in Békéscsaba and it was this place where the GOTS certificate was first achieved in Hungary.
Seems our fates met.
Fast fashion or GOTS?
Love The Organic is not a subsistence trade mark. It aims to support everyone in contributing to settling our environment somehow. I am approaching this through children’s clothing (as well).
I believe that we should have 2-3 normal pieces of clothing rather than 200 of poor quality garbage from plastic. Do not fall into this fast fashion hype. You know, it is like fast food vs. healthy dishes issue.
If it is important for you that your children eat meals made from natural and healthy ingredients, you can also understand the mission of Love the Organic. I also believe that the environmentally friendly outfits are as important as our nutrition.
Join the mission of Love the Organic and let us act upon the healthy future of our children.
Set up your child’s capsule wardrobe with GOTS or OEKO-Tex products (I will write about that soon.)
You will surely love it!
